Want something new to do next year?

IGNITE based at Croydon Clocktower is embarking on an adventurous 3 month site-specific theatre project with the incredible Tangled Feet Theatre Company.

 

There are opportunities for anyone aged 14-19 to be part of the performances in March 2012. Taking part is free.

 

Rehearsals take place on Thursdays between 6.30-8.30pm in Croydon Clocktower beginning January 12.

Nadine is giving 3 people the chance to attend the below music and theatre production for FREE!

All you have to do is help Nadine  give out some flyers for one hour before it all starts (6-7pm). This will be a great example of volunteering for Choice FM to list in your CV so any takers?

Introducing The Lazy Grafters, a pair of fun-loving lyricists who are a breath of fresh air for the UK rap scene: meet the sassy Lil’ Simz, a female MC who mixes book smarts and street vibes to create her own unique style; enter soul star David O and the charismatic Cynikal with the live band funk. We also bring you inspirational lyricists, from prolific rap prodigy Kinetic to Wordplay, with his powerful poetics. Add sultry soul sista Honey and inspirational reggae singer Yiserael Immanuel and the Eastside Stories All-Stars and you have the complete package. These artists are unique, but all share the same dream- to go from anonymous to famous.

You can also expect competitions, a fashion show and a few surprises along the way…after all, our event is called Anonymous…what did you expect?

Audition to take part in BAC Summer Production!!

When? 9th July 2011, 1pm-5pm

Where? Battersea Arts Centre (http://www.bac.org.uk/)

What will happen? It will be a workshop style audition, so even if you don’t get a place, it will be a fun day and a chance to learn from a brillant artist!

In this production, you will get to work with a professional BAC director and production team to devise a show which will be presented in BAC’s largest theatre space for 4 nights this August!

Mousetrap Theatre Projects offer 19 to 23 year olds the chance to see a wide range of professional theatre in Central London…..for £10 or less!

They organise one event each month, which, as well as the ticket, includes a pre or post show Q and A with cast or creatives.

If you live in Croydon, are aged 18-25 and love the arts, live music and want to gain invaluable work experience in the live arts marketing industry we have the perfect opportunity for you!

Clocktower Arts are looking for 10 Founding Members to start up the Marketing Collective – a dynamic and vibrant team of young Croydonians from underrepresented groups who can help widen youth participation in the arts and want to learn about below-the-line marketing. The Marketing Collective will be working with the Clocktower Arts marketing team, a dedicated team of industry professionals.

Clocktower Arts is the Croydon Arts Centre based at Croydon Clocktower. Clocktower Arts programme and market Music, Film, Theatre and Comedy at The Clocktower.

The Founding Members of the Marketing Collective will be responsible for promoting the wide range of shows and events programmed by Clocktower Arts. As part of a diverse team they will develop skills in below-the-line marketing and have the opportunity to influence future programming with a view to progressing towards building their own teams.

The role is voluntary and time commitment is about 1.5 days a week with a minimum of one day spent in the office. Expenses are paid and free tickets to shows and events are available (as if the opportunity to revolutionise youth involvement in the arts in Croydon isn’t enough!!).
