Have you heard about this FREE amazing event called ‘Inspirational You’?

Do you feel like it’s time to raise the bar but don’t know how?

Are you a social entrepreneur, business leader or student?

If you have answered ‘YES’ to any of the above questions then ‘Inspirational You’ is the place to be!!

It is a FREE event which features many different workshops by leaders of various industries and with the opportunity to be coached by some of Britain’s top speakers and leading entrepreneurs, I guess it must be a win win.

When is the event? 25th June 2011, 12-6pm

Where is the event held? London Southbank University

Also ‘Young, Black and Successful’ will be running their own workshop entitled “I’m Young and Winning”. The workshop will feature amazing young achievers such as Nathan Ghann, Kyla Frye, TJ Morgan and Joanna Abeyie! So make sure you get down to the event and network with some amazing professionals and young people!

Are you 18-25 years old?

Do you live in Hackney?

Fancy a one year apprenticeship with Festival Republic ( the UK’s leading festival and event promoter)?

You must:
  • Live in Hackney
  • Be at least 18 and no older than 25 years old
  • Have a “work-hard” attitude
  • Have GCSEs (A-Levels are a bonus! You can’t have a degree, but you can already be on a course!)
  • Think this apprenticeship sounds awesome. Seriously. They only want people who are passionate about this opportunity and about the events and promotion industry!

What would I do?

  •  You would provide administrative support to the planning of a live event
  • Find out how to support the planning of a live event
  • Work effectively with all levels of staff in a creative and cultural context
  • Manual handling and lifting of loads onsite
  • Working within the various departments both in the office and onsite to give an overall view of what goes into putting on a festival (for example, Production/Site Crew/Ticketing/PR & Marketing)
 What would I get from it?
  •  £2.50 per hour plus travel expenses and accommodation required by the role
  • An industry-recognised Level 2 Certificate in Supporting Live Events and Promotion, key for getting into the events and promotion industry
  • Crucial experience

What about working hours?

The working hours are 10am until 6pm, Monday to Friday. Four days are in the office in Covent Garden or at a festival, and one day a week is at college.

During festival season, hours will be longer and involve weekend work.

CluedUp is all about empowerment! Enabling women to make better choices, increasing sexual health, contraception knowledge and self-management skills.

It’s also a brilliant way to network with people that can listen help and support!

The event  will  feature young women  sharing insights and a film will be screened.

Are you an Artist? Ready to perform? Auditions are taking place next Saturday 20th November for the upcoming Eastside Stories showcase.
The young events management team are on the look out for fresh talent to share the spotlight with some of the biggest names in the game.

Past headliners have included Bashy, Giggs, Shola Ama, Ghetts, Wretch32, Griminal, Kele Le Roc and Devlin.

Any interested performers should send two tracks, a photo and a bio to by Tuesday 16th November.


SLAM FUNK – 2nd October 2010

Slam Funk” will be one of the biggest basketball and music events in London yet!

We plan to get 5 a side strong basketball teams in London, England UK ranging from ages 16-25. This will include universities and colleges. The day will be a full day event, with other activities including live performances from some of the UK leading artists.
