Creative Circles

Art workshops at Purley Festival

27th June – 3rd July 2011

Creative Circles are offering fun and colourful Art Workshops as part of the Purley Festival.

  Art workshops are on offer for all children aged between 5yrs and 15yrs, and we would especially like to invite with children with special educational needs.

The art workshops will be held at Laleham Lea School, Entrance at 29 Peaks Rise, Purley, Surrey, CR8 3JJ for the week during the Purley festival,

On 28th Tues, 29th Wed, 30th Thurs, 31st Fri at 3.15pm – 6.15pm.

Finale 3rd July workshops open to public at the Rotary Fields on Brighton Road.

Times: Workshop 1 @ 10.30am -12.30pm

                 Workshop 2 @ 1.30-2.30pm

                 Workshop 3@ 3pm -5pm

Cost:  £3.00 per session

Calling for Volunteers to make a difference and get involved!

  We are looking for volunteer art assistants, and volunteers to help with our other projects: volunteer- administration, volunteer- fundraising and marketing.

Our mission: Creative Arts in the Community

“Provision of inclusive, high quality tailor-made arts programmes, to enable children and young people particularly those with special educational needs, to express themselves creatively, and to build self-esteem and a sense of social belonging.”

Creative Circles offering training for:

·        Arts Volunteers 

·        Admin volunteers

We are looking for 20 volunteers who would like to take up a FREE 10 week ASDAN accredited training programme.  The training is for volunteers who are interested in art and working with children, with inclusion for children with special educational needs.  We are looking for candidates who can commit to 1 day a week for 10 weeks, with 100 hours support the children at our art club.  Successful candidates will receive a ASDAN qualification Community Volunteering Certificate.

Clocktower Arts are looking for 10 Founding Members to start up the Marketing Collective – a dynamic and vibrant team of young Croydonians from underrepresented groups who can help widen youth participation in the arts and want to learn about below-the-line marketing. The Marketing Collective will be working with the Clocktower Arts marketing team, a dedicated team of industry professionals.

Clocktower Arts is the Croydon Arts Centre based at Croydon Clocktower. Clocktower Arts programme and market Music, Film, Theatre and Comedy at The Clocktower.

The Founding Members of the Marketing Collective will be responsible for promoting the wide range of shows and events programmed by Clocktower Arts. As part of a diverse team they will develop skills in below-the-line marketing and have the opportunity to influence future programming with a view to progressing towards building their own teams.

The role is voluntary and time commitment is about 1.5 days a week with a minimum of one day spent in the office. Expenses are paid and free tickets to shows and events are available (as if the opportunity to revolutionise youth involvement in the arts in Croydon isn’t enough!!).
